Welcome!

Dear Neighbor,

Welcome to my website for Baltimore’s 8th District.  This website was created to help keep you informed as to what’s going on in the district and the city.  I am very pleased to note that using the Internet creates a wonderful opportunity for me to communicate with you in an efficient and frequent manner.  This site has been designed to share pertinent information with you and your family as it relates to city services and local issues that directly impact our lives and our communities.

Several of the areas to be covered on the District’s website will pertain to your concerns as it relates to crime and safety, education, housing, health care, and numerous other topics.  Our website will also bring you updates from City Hall on current legislation, newsworthy items/events occurring in our District, as well as vital information from municipal agencies. Here, in the world of cyberspace, I will share news relating to matters like community grant opportunities, home ownership, home preservation, arts and entertainment, civic forums and the like.

The website also gives us a chance to showcase our District, giving the area residents and citizens throughout Baltimore a glimpse into our Southwest Baltimore communities.  There are currently more than two dozen communities situated throughout the rolling, wooded hills that showcase traditional, urban landscape settings found in our District.  Check this site to find out about the many activities and programs that are sponsored by our various community associations.

Frequently, there will be services, opportunities and cultural endeavors that you can read about on the 8th District website.  We’re aiming to make the information interesting and useful.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks very much for visiting; you are invited to visit regularly—your City Councilwoman is simply a click away.

Yours for our community,

Helen
